Valdivia

It is located 153 km from Medellín, at an altitude of approximately 1,165 meters above sea level, and has about 15,000 inhabitants. Founded in 1879 and a municipality since 1912, it combines mountain areas with savannas of Bajo Cauca, making it a territory of great climatic diversity. Its economy revolves around coffee and livestock. It is a strategic point on the road to the coast, with a large territory that mixes rural and urban areas.

Valdivia has been one of the municipalities most impacted and strengthened by investments, with a cumulative amount of more than $198 billion, reflecting sustained work to rebuild, protect and energize the territory. Environmental management, with more than $26 billion, has made it possible to restore ecosystems, support communities and strengthen local risk management plans.

Added to this is more than $13.7 billion in additional social investment, aimed at supporting families, promoting productive initiatives and improving living conditions. The 1% investment, worth $137 million, has driven key environmental actions, while the PAE, with more than $46 billion, has been essential to address emergencies, rehabilitate housing and strengthen the resilience of the municipality.

In 2024 alone, Valdivia received more than $5.119 million, which are reflected in emblematic works such as the Simon Bolivar Bridge, the improvement of the Puerto Valdivia-Dam road, the recovery of affected housing, the construction of purification plants and the implementation of community risk management plans.

These investments are complemented by decisive actions such as comprehensive care for victims, institutional strengthening and the promotion of productive projects, consolidating Valdivia as an example of regional recovery and progress.
