Yarumal

It is located about 123 km from Medellín, with its head elevated to 2,300 meters above sea level; it is a municipality of around 44,000 inhabitants and was founded on March 29, 1787 (a municipality erected in 1821). Its economy combines coffee production, livestock and local business activities. It is a municipality notable for its cultural and tourist heritage — museums, local architecture and cultural events — as well as its mountain landscapes that make it attractive for nature and cultural tourism.

Yarumal has received more than $19.6 billion in investments aimed at social welfare, sustainability and community strengthening. With more than $11.2 billion in additional social investment and $7.9 billion in environmental and social management, the municipality has developed projects that promote education, health, rural mobility and environmental protection.

The 1% investment, which exceeds $479 million, has supported environmental compensation and restoration processes, while the PAE, with $50 million, has contributed to the improvement of local capacities.

These investments have resulted in intervened rural roads, improved schools and hospitals, strengthened aqueducts, productive projects and environmental programs, accompanied by community training actions and the delivery of school kits, which have benefited children, young people and families throughout the municipality.
