With a generation of 9,173 GWh during 2025, the Hidroituango project, owned by the company HIDROITUANGO S.A., established itself as one of the pillars of the national electricity system, providing 10.87% of the country's total energy demand, which reached 84,412 GWh in the same period.

In 2025, Hidroituango provided nearly 11% of the energy consumed by Colombia
- With the energy it produced, cities such as Medellín or Cali can be served for a year.
- The energy produced by the plant, owned by HIDROITUANGO S.A., had significant environmental benefits for the country, as it came from a renewable source with low emissions.
With a generation of 9,173 GWh during 2025, the Hidroituango project, owned by the company HIDROITUANGO S.A., established itself as one of the pillars of the national electricity system, providing 10.87% of the country's total energy demand, which reached 84,412 GWh in the same period.
The energy produced by the Ituango Hydroelectric Power Plant in 2025 could meet, for one year, the electricity demand of cities such as Medellín and Cali together, or of more than ten intermediate capitals in the country.
In addition, the emission of millions of tons of CO₂ was avoided, reaffirming the project's role as a pillar of energy security and of the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable matrix.

Beyond the figure, the Hidroituango generation represented a key support for the interconnected system, especially in a year of high energy demand, contributing to service stability, supply reliability and meeting the demand of homes, businesses, industries and public services across the country.
These results reflect the strategic importance of the power plant for Colombia, as well as the value of an infrastructure designed by HIDROITUANGO S.A. to strengthen economic development, competitiveness and the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix.
Hidroituango's contribution during 2025 reaffirms its role as one of the country's main sources of generation, capable of producing, in a single year, an amount of energy comparable to that required jointly by several capitals and metropolitan areas, consolidating itself as a fundamental asset for the present and future of energy in Colombia.
